Dedicated to the memory and passion of William "Bill" Sherertz

In 2009 William Sherertz bought the old Parker House in Washougal, WA with hopes of building a restaurant. He wanted a place where the community could come together and enjoy good food. In 2010 construction began and the building took shape. After he passed away in January of 2011 the restaurant was put on pause. Bill’s wife Kim and their children decided to turn the space into a gathering/event center in honor of him. Kim and her kids love being involved in the community and have entrepreneur's hearts. Together they are taking Bill’s vision and helping it come to life. After years of planning and hard work, the Black Pearl was launched in 2018.

The Black Pearl on the Columbia is an event venue in the Washougal neighborhood sitting on the Columbia River with the most beautiful view of Mt. Hood. The Black Pearl is the perfect space for weddings, fundraisers, art and auto auctions, retreats or trainings, parties or to just gather together in a spectacular location. With floor to ceiling windows and concrete floors, our venue is a blank canvas allowing any kind of theme or design.
